The Arcam CD5 is a high-resolution CD player resulting from nearly four decades of Arcam expertise in playing compact discs, combining an ESS ES9018 DAC with support for high-resolution FLAC and WAV files on CD and USB for an intimate and finely detailed reproduction of your favorite discs.
Compact disc playback — Compatible with CD (audio), CD-R (audio/data) and CD-RW (audio/data) media for full compatibility with factory-pressed discs as well as personal burns.
ESS ES9018 DAC — At the heart of the CD5, the renowned ESS ES9018 digital-to-analog converter extracts every musical detail through high-precision conversion worthy of reference CD players.
High-resolution audio playback — High-resolution audio playback capability is included for CD- and USB-encoded FLAC and WAV files, with sampling rates up to 96 kHz (WAV and FLAC only) and 16 or 24-bit depth — with additional support for 32, 44.1, 48 and 88.2 kHz frequencies, as well as MP3, AAC and WMA formats.
